Premier's Reading Challenge

Premier’s Reading Challenge

Mount St Thomas Public School is participating in the Premier’s Reading challenge, which was instituted by the Premier of NSW, the Hon. Bob Carr, to encourage an interest in reading in young people.  The challenge is open to all students in New South Wales in Years K to 8.    Please refer to the official Premier's Reading Challenge Website to find out all the relevant information and browse the book list.

The students will receive a certificate signed by the Premier.  A student who receives certificates four years in a row will receive a gold award for reading.  Schools with the highest proportion of students who receive certificates will be eligible to receive special school prizes.  At Mount St Thomas we are very keen to further encourage literacy skills in our students and as such, have enthusiastically accepted the challenge.  Thirty-three students have joined the Reading Challenge and are reading books by A.K. Rowling, Lewis Carroll, Paul Jennings, Libby Gleeson and many more at every opportunity in order to reach their goal.  We wish our students the very best of luck.
