Library

Mount St Thomas school library is a relatively new building, built in 1996 to replace two kindergarten rooms destroyed by fire on Anzac Day, 1995.  The Library was officially opened on 12th December by the late Mr Gerry Sullivan MP, Member for Wollongong.

Our Teacher / Librarians is Mrs Priscilla Skarpona.   She has each class for a 40 minute library lesson every week.  Please make sure you know what day is your child's library day and remember to always pack the library bag and book on that day.

Library Monitors are volunteers chosen from Year 5 and Year 6.  Monitors are rostered for duty during borrowing times:

Tuesday - 8.30am   and   11.25am

Wednesday - 8.30am   and   11.25am

Thursday - 8.30am   and   11.25am

Infants children borrow during their class lesson time.  Primary children are encouraged to borrow as they need to during class lessons and morning borrowing times.

The aim is to make the library a friendly, cheerful environment where children can learn as well as relax.  There are a number of excellent displays and accessories which contribute to making the library an interesting place to be.
