Environmental Trail

Take time to relax and enjoy our beautiful gardens as you explore the many innovative environmental programs along this self -guided trail.

Our Outdoor Learning Area

- is a quiet shady area shared with frogs, lizards and native birds. We have planted grevilleas and banksias for the nectar loving birds. There are seed trays, a bird bath and hollow logs with our rainforest frog pond hidden in the corner.

Our Solar Frog Pond

- This frog pond utilises the rainwater from the nearby school building. The solar panel allows the water to reticulate between the three levels. The upper levels are for frogs. The lower level is a breeding pond for a local native endangered fish – Pacific Blue Eyes.

The Lavender Farm

Statford Park Lavender Farm at Robertson has established this unique initiative. It incorporates a variety of lavender, which will be propagated and harvested for the lavender products. Parents and community members will be providing the expertise needed for the senior children to successfully implement this project.

Our Enchanted Wood

An initiative aimed at getting children back into the natural environment to explore. A place where imagination rules. See lots of fairytale characters hidden amongst the trees. Roam and play where no adults are allowed.

The Bank

-From bare roots to shady seating for the oval. With traffic diverted this area has turned into a quiet wildlife corridor with a bowerbird collecting blue objects to decorate his bower.

Aboriginal Creek side Walk

-Restoration of the creek border into a meandering snake trail planted with the local indigenous rainforest vegetation. The trail will have informative signs about the food, cultural and medicinal qualities of the plants as used by the local aboriginals.

Solar for Schools

- Mount St Thomas has recently had solar panels installed by Integral Energy. A great educational tool that will provide us with some relief to our power usage.
