BOOK CLUB

Scholastic has worked with Australian schools for over 30 years bringing children and reading together.

Scholastic Book Clubs have been at Mount St Thomas Public School for many years and the children are always enthusiastic and excited to receive each new issue.

Eight times a year, Book Club brochures and order forms for Wombat, Lucky, Arrow, Star/Teenage and TBS Book Clubs go out to each class.

For children aged 0-5, a child's first Book Club, designed to nurture a love of reading.

For children aged 5-8, with a strong focus on learning to read independently.

For children aged 8-10. Focusing on reading materials that appeal to children's different interests to ensure they stay interested in reading as they begin to make their own reading choices.

For children aged 10-14. Designed to make reading 'cool' for children. Includes a teenage section.

There is no obligation to buy anything from Book Club however, it is always worthwhile looking through the order sheets for specials and a quality range of age-appropriate products, from fiction to activity books, magazines to information books, educational software and CD-ROMs.

Orders are sent into the office by the specified due date.  This date is displayed around the school and also in the school calendar in the Newsletter.  Payment for book club can be by cash, cheque or credit card.  Credit card payments are made over the phone prior to sending the order to school.  You will recieve a reciept number which must be written on the order form..  The school receives additional information about the books on offer, so if you are unsure about the suitability of a book for your child please ask.

Every product ordered on Book Club helps our school to earn valuable resources. This program is called Reading Rewards and there is a range of products the school can receive with these Reading Rewards.

Scholastic has its own website which is a wealth of information regarding Book Club.  Please use this website for any further information about book club, kid reviews, author and illustrators, software notes and book information.
